Q: What is the BPL-ConnectSmart application?

A: Mobile app to manage BPL Smart lighting devices. Allows turn on/off, color & brightness change. Bulb supports RGBCW; Batten supports Cool & Warm White only.

Q: Can I adjust the brightness and colors of my smart bulbs/battens through the BPL-ConnectSmart application??

A: Yes. Bulbs allow brightness adjustment and tuning of 16 million colors. Battens support Cool & Warm White brightness control.

Q: How can I add my smart bulb/batten to the BPL-ConnectSmart application?

A: Put device in pairing mode (switch on/off 2 times). It blinks when in pairing. Add device via app. Must use 2.4 GHz WiFi.

Q: What should I do if no bulb/batten is found during the scanning process?

A: Ensure pairing mode is on and device is close to mobile. If stable cool white shows, redo pairing by on/off 2 times.

Q: Is the BPL bulb/batten compatible with Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant?

A: Yes. Link your account via BPL-ConnectSmart app under Accounts > Profile.

Q: Can I use the Voice control feature to operate my smart bulb/batten, even if I don’t have Google Home or Amazon Alexa enabled smart speakers?

A: Yes. Use Alexa/Google Assistant apps on smartphone for voice commands.

A: Turn off old, put new device in pairing. In app > 3-dot menu > Replace. Name/location retained.

A: Go to device page > 3-dot menu > Delete to remove device.

Q: Can I connect the bulb/batten using a 5 GHz WiFi network?

A: No, only compatible with 2.4 GHz WiFi.

A: Switch on/off 8 times for factory reset. Then delete (Q12) and re-add (Q4).

Q: Can I add a shortcut tile of my smart bulb/batten on the application dashboard?

A: Yes. In device page > 3-dot menu > Edit > enable Quick access on dashboard.

Q: What is the lighting smart feature on the BPL-ConnectSmart application?

A: Group control of all devices in a room/home. E.g., switch on all bulbs with green color.

Q: Is it possible to share control of my BPL smart lighting devices with other users?

A: Yes. Admin can add other users from Accounts > Admin Mode using mobile number & OTP.

Q: Is it possible to control my smart bulb/batten from more than one mobile device?

A: Yes. Log into the app on other devices with same account or share access (Q21).

Q: What is the scene functionality in the BPL-ConnectSmart application?

A: Preset rules for automated control, e.g. turn on bulb daily at specific time.

Q: How to come out of pairing mode if it is accidentally switched on for the smart bulb/batten?

A: Switch on/off once to exit blinking mode. Device reconnects to WiFi and resumes previous state.

Q: I am unable to connect the bulb/batten with the voice assistant, receiving an error message that says device unresponsive, what to do?

A: Check internet. If issue persists, reset bulb and reconnect.

Q: What is the Admin mode of BPL-ConnectSmart application?

A: Parent control mode to add/delete/edit devices and scenes.
