Q2. What is the BPL-ConnectSmart application?
A. BPL-ConnectSmart application manages your BPL Smart Air Conditioners, lighting devices and many more. Using the application, user can control the AC temperature, Flexi mode, Value mode, Anti-mildew & Instacool function, adjust swing up-down, set favorites and schedule power on/off.
Q3. How can I pair the Smart AC with the BPL-ConnectSmart App?
A. To pair the Smart AC with the App, follow these steps:
Ensure AC is in the pairing mode before starting the process. Pairing mode can be enabled by pressing the Swing Up-Down key 3 times.
Once CF is displayed on the IDU and on the Remote Control, it indicates that pairing mode is enabled. AC will remain in pairing mode for 5 minutes.
Now, tap on Add device on the BPL–ConnectSmart application and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: AC can only be connected to the 2.4GHz band of the Wi-Fi network.
Q4. What are the different features that can be controlled with the BPL–ConnectSmart App?
A. Using the BPL–ConnectSmart App, you can select the AC temperature, Flexi mode, Value mode, Anti-mildew and Instacool function, adjust swing up-down, set favorites and schedule power on/off.
Q5. What is the Favorite feature?
A. With the Favorite feature, user can create up to 3 favorites that can combine Mode, Fan speed, Temperature, Swing and Flexi settings.
Q6. How do I link AC with Amazon Alexa / Google Assistant?
A. In the BPL ConnectSmart App, go to Side Menu > Accounts > Profile. Profile screen displays your account details and 2 options to connect Voice Assistant i.e. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Tap on View Instructions to view the respective guide and link your account.
Q7. I have Android phone / iPhone but don’t have Google Home or Amazon Alexa enabled smart speakers. Can I still use Voice control feature of the AC?
A. Yes. You can use the Voice control feature by downloading the Google Assistant/Amazon Alexa app on your Android phone or iPhone.
Q8. What should I do if AC is not discovered during the scanning process?
A. You should ensure the AC is in pairing mode, CF is visible on the IDU/Remote control and your mobile device is near to it.
Q9. How can I delete/remove AC from the BPL–ConnectSmart App?
A. On the App, go to the AC details page and tap on 3 dots menu. Select Delete option to remove the AC from the linked account.
Q10. Can I connect the AC to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network?
A. No. This AC works only with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Q11. Will the AC work on the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot?
A. Yes, the AC will work on the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, provided the hotspot is set to 2.4 GHz mode.
Q12. Can I control the AC from long distance / outside the home network?
A. Yes, if the AC is connected via your home router and your phone is connected to the Internet, you can control this AC from anywhere.
Q13. How can I re-configure Wi-Fi settings of the AC or add it to the new router?
A. First, bring the AC in the Network Change mode. Then go to the 3 dots menu in the AC details page on the BPL-ConnectSmart App. Select Wi-Fi Settings option to re-configure the Wi-Fi settings of the AC from the application. User can update Wi-Fi SSID or password to which AC needs to be connected.
Q14. What should I do if the AC is showing as offline?
A. Check whether the router to which AC was connected is powered on or not and is broadcasting 2.4 GHz band. In addition, ensure the internet is available. In case, Wi-Fi name or password has been changed then re-configure Wi-Fi settings of the AC.
Q15. How do I check for firmware updates to ensure that the AC is running on the latest version?
A. Navigate to the Device details page of the Smart AC. Tap on the 3 dots menu and select About Device option. You can tap on the refresh icon on top right corner to check if any new updates are available.
Q16. How can I add shortcut tile of the AC on the Dashboard?
A. In the App, go to the 3 dots menu on the AC Details page and select Edit option. Enable the option Quick access on Dashboard to add shortcut tile on the Dashboard.
Q17. How can I enable notifications for the AC?
A. In the App, go to the 3 dots menu on the AC Details page and select Edit option. Enable the option Notifications.
Q18. How can I share AC with other users?
A. This option is available with the primary home/account owner of the BPL-ConnectSmart application. Follow these steps to share app control with other users:
Ensure the user to be added has logged into the application before starting the process.
Go to the Accounts section in the side-menu of the BPL-ConnectSmart application dashboard.
Go to Admin Mode and enter the admin PIN to manage accounts.
Enter the mobile number of the user to be added.
Enter the OTP received on the mobile number of the user to be added.
Q19. Can I control my AC from more than one mobile device?
A. Yes, users can control their smart AC from more than one mobile device by downloading the BPL-ConnectSmart application on the additional devices and logging in to the application using the same account as on the primary mobile device.
Q20. What are the Scenes?
A. Scenes are pre-set rules defined using the BPL-ConnectSmart application that allow users to set custom functions for the AC. For example, switch the AC On or Off at a particular time daily, at defined temperature and mode.
Q21. What are the Schedulers?
A. Schedulers are used to set AC turn On/Off, enable/disable mode, set fan speed at a specific time. For example, switch the AC On or Off at a particular time daily, with defined temperature, mode and fan speed.
Q22. If the AC enters pairing mode by mistake, how do I exit it?
A. To come out of pairing mode, you can switch Off and switch On the AC. After exiting the pairing mode, the AC will re-connect back to previously connected Wi-Fi network and retain its previous state.
Q23. I am unable to connect the AC with the voice assistant, it says device is unresponsive?
A. First, check the internet connectivity. If still the problem persists, reset the AC and try connecting to the Voice Assistant again.
Q24. What is the Admin mode in the BPL-ConnectSmart App?
A. User can add, delete or edit devices/scenes once Admin mode is enabled.
Q25. What to do when my account gets locked?
A. A user account gets locked when an incorrect admin PIN is entered 3 times in a row. In this case, only the primary user of the home/account has the option to unlock the account after entering the correct admin PIN.
Q26. How to reset Admin PIN if I forget it?
A. To reset the PIN, go to Side-menu > Accounts > Admin mode and select Forgot PIN option.
Q27. How to change Admin PIN?
A. To the change the PIN, go to Side-menu > Accounts > Admin mode and select Change PIN option.
Q28. Do I need Smart Hub / IoT Hub to control the AC?
A. No, Smart Hub / IoT Hub is not required to control the AC. Just connect the AC to your home Wi-Fi network.

Q30. What will happen in case of power outage? Will the AC retain its previous state after the power restoration?
A. The AC will retain its previous state after the power restoration. It is not required to reconfigure the device.
Q31. Why there is a delay sometimes in operating AC from the application?
A. If the Wi-Fi coverage is poor or there are multiple Wi-Fi clients connected to the Wi-Fi router with heavy data traffic running, then user may experience delay in control of the AC. For the former case, user needs to have Wi-Fi mesh device to improve the coverage of Wi-Fi.
